OECD

The Danish Ministry of Finance attends several OECD working groups.

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) was constituted in 1961 and replaced the Organisation for European Economic Co-operation (OEEC). There are at present 30 members of the OECD. The mission of the organization is to help the OECD countries to achieve sustainable economic growth and employment and to raise the standard of living.

To achieve this mission, the OECD uses its extensive knowledge on a broad range of policy issues to identify different types of problems in the member countries. The OECD also makes recommendations to the countries on how to solve these problems. The work of the OECD is based on comparative policy analysis and projections of short and medium-term economic developments.

The OECD operates in many areas, including macroeconomics, trade, public governance and management, energy, environment, tax, employment and social issues.

Every 1½-2 years the OECD publishes assessments of the economic policies for each OECD country. For more information on the economic survey of Denmark, click here.

The Danish Ministry of Finance attends several OECD working groups. The economic and structural policy analyses of OECD are sources of inspiration to the daily work in the ministry, just as the ministry has an impact on the output of OECD analysis.

Once a year, the Ministerial Council of the OECD meets to discuss the priorities of OECD.
