4. Division
The division handles the responsibilities of the Ministry of Finance with respect to culture, education and science including culture policies, educational policies, adult learning and education and research policies.
Work on policy areas comprise among other things analysis of the efficiency of various instruments in achieving given political objectives.
The division is responsible for monitoring the budgets of the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (§ 19), the Ministry of Education (§ 20) and the Ministry of Culture (§ 21).
The division prepares proposals for initiatives that can promote the achievement of given objectives in the areas mentioned, and comments on the expenditure consequences of new proposals. Furthermore, the division conducts spending reviews, prepares and puts forward decision proposals and implements the national budget in cooperation with the relevant ministries.
