ECOFIN council
The Council meets in ECOFIN formation around once a month to discuss various economic and financial issues.
Below are examples of issues discussed:
- coordination of economic policy, including public finance
- recommendations on structural policies in Member States
- cooperation on tax policies
- cooperation on financial markets
- the EMU and the euro
- the EU budget
- financial assistance to Central and Eastern Europe and other third countries
