The international cooperation of the Ministry of Finance is mainly focused on the EU but also the Nordic cooperation, the IMF and the OECD.

The Council meets in ECOFIN formation around once a month to discuss various economic and financial issues.

The assessment of financial impacts of proposed EU legislation is an important aspect when the Danish position is to be defined.

International Cooperation on Climate Change
The Ministry of Finance participates in the Danish government’s Climate Summit Committee, which prepares the UN climate summit in Copenhagen in 2009. Furthermore, the Ministry of Finance participates in international meetings in which the economic implications of the international action on climate change are debated.

The Danish Ministry of Finance attends several OECD working groups.

IMF
The Danish Ministry of Finance and the central bank of Denmark (“Danmarks Nationalbank”) jointly handle Denmark’s relations with the IMF.
